Babilonia Hydroelectric Project - Honduras

Part of the flow of water from a river is diverted, passing through turbines which generate clean energy. Water is then returned to the river further downstream, thus maintaining the ecological functions of the river flow. In addition to providing a sustainable, endogenous and clean supply of power, the project has contributed to training and employment, as well as several other social and development benefits to the neighbouring community.
