e)mission news
The Energy Bus, an education and awareness raising campaign in motion which is now in circulation throughout Portugal, has been entirely refurbished. It now uses different languages and styles to respond to different audiences: children, youth and adults. Through new media support, interests and experiences, everyone can interact with the Energy Bus´ themes: energy production and transformation, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. It also engages visitors in examining energy efficient, environmentally friendly behaviour.

The Energy Bus is a project promoted by EDP, developed in partnership with TerraSystemics, with funding by ERSE, the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority.
The Energy Bus campaign visited a large number of cities between 2007 and 2009 but also villages and other remote locations where populations have less access to information. In all, 73 locations in 64 different municipalities, including 46 cities, 23 towns and four villages, received the mobile energy education and information campaign. A total of 45 500 visitors of all ages, including 19,000 students from 210 schools, visited the Energy Bus during the campaign´s initial years.
The Energy Bus consumes diesel fuel when its on the road to the different locations, and uses power when it is set up as an exhibition. The greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the combustion of fuel, use of power, generation of waste, as well as the mobility and accommodation of the Energy Bus on-board staff were calculated by e)mission and fully neutralised through investments in sustainable energy projects.
As such, the Energy Bus 2011-2012 campaign is e)mission neutral certified.
