Europe´s largest Christmas tree was e)mission neutral certified

24-01-2010

Now a yearly tradition, the giant Christmas tree is erected at the highest point of Lisbon´s Parque Eduardo VII and overlooks the city. From 29 November till 7 January, the Christmas tree, and associated events tent for kids, drew an estimated 3 million visitors.

The 44m structure powered over 1.6 million mini-lights, 12.8 km of light cable, 600 flashing bulbs and 90 decorative neon stars, which shone from 7pm to 1am each day during the holiday period.

Zon Multimedia was the main sponsor, with institutional partners Lisbon Municipality and Better World, together with EDP and TVI.

Carbon emissions resulting from the power used in this Christmas campaign were calculated and offset - the Zon Christmas tree 2009 was e)mission neutral certified.
