e)mission news
e)mission takes its quality assurance seriously. KPMG Advisory has been chosen once again by Access2 Carbon Markets to verify the e)mission carbon registry for 2010.
The external, independent verification procedure attests that purchases and retirements of carbon credits have been conducted in a clear and correct manner, and that the e)mission registry balance of carbon credits contracted and transacted was positive. The procedure also verifies that the carbon credits used conform to the very high level of quality that e)mission is committed to, and result from approved projects following UN methodologies and appropriate international standards.
This verification procedure by KPMG Advisory is one of the layers of Quality Assurance offered by Access2 Carbon Markets to its e)mission clients and partners as part of its commitment to excellence, transparency and accountability. e)mission already uses the world-leading and award-winning Markit Environmental Registry to account for all its carbon credit transactions, in a verifiable and public way. And the independent, international Environmental Steering Committee for e)mission advises on the scientific, ethical and international good practise and pro-sustainability aspects of e)mission business, in particular in relation to the carbon projects it associates itself with.
The KPMG Advisory verification follows the ISAE 3000 International Standard on Assurance Engagements, issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, of the International Federation of Accountants.
The Independent Limited Assurance Report relative to e)mission´s registry in 2010 will be included in the e)mission 2010-2011 Annual Report. It can be viewed as a stand-alone document here.
