e)mission news
e)mission offers a survey on its website to enable clients, partners and other interested people a chance to express their choices on a number of issues connected to climate, carbon management, and corporate and individual responsibility and motivation.
The most recent survey asked:
What kind of emission reduction projects do you think are best to generate carbon credits?
Visitors to the e)mission website responded overwhelmingly (85%) that energy efficiency, large scale renewable energy and small scale sustainable energy projects in developing countries were the most desirable.
Projects that support energy efficiency were the most popular, with almost half the votes. Large scale renewable energy projects and small, sustainable energy projects in developing countries accounted for 20% of the preference, each. Carbon sequestration and “other” accounted each for 7% of votes.
The results are in line with the e)mission position of offsetting clients´ carbon emissions only with emission reductions which follow the industry guidelines. They must be:
- Real
- Measurable
- Permanent
- Additional
- Independently verified
- Unique
For more information on quality standards for carbon offsets, please refer to ICROA – International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance, or the Projects section on the e)mission website, or simply download our brochure.
We encourage all our visitors to participate in our surveys!
The next question is:
How should companies adapt their corporate carbon management strategy in an economic downturn?
