Green Project Awards is an initiative which aims to award good practices in implementing projects which contribute to sustainable development, promote companies and institutions which have supported sustainable activities and reinforce the role of consumers and decision-makers in achieving a more sustainable pathway. Starting in Portugal with the support of the Environment Agency and CGI, Green Project Awards has now been taken up also in Brazil, where various Ministries and public Institutions have endorsed the initiative.
In keeping with the spirit of this yearly Award scheme, the organizers have adopted a carbon neutral policty. The unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions associated to the 4th edition of Green Project Awards were calculated and offset by e)mission. The carbon impact of the GreenProjectAwards was 11.25 tonnes of CO2eq.
The carbon emissions were offset using carbon credits in e)mission´s portfolio, which supports projects that contribute to local sustainability while reducing emissions in developing countries.
