e)mission news
Green Festival is now a yearly event in Portugal, bringing together thousands of individuals, families, companies and public entitites for a week-long series of activties and seminars dedicated to sustainability issues. This reference event was a success in 2011; as a means of raising awareness about climate change and urging carbon responsibility, the organization of the Festival invited e)mission as an event Partner to account for the event´s carbon footprint.
332 tonnes of CO2eq was the carbon impact of the GreenFest’11. The carbon footprint calculation included the following emission sources: organizer´s mobility, flights of invited speakers, local mobility, accommodation of speakers, mobility of the participants, materials, energy, water and waste.
The event took place in Portugal´s leading Green Venue - the Estoril Congress Center, which has a variety of environmental and management accolades. The Estoril Congress Center is an e)mission neutral facility.
