What do Mohamed ElBaradei, Nouriel Roubini and Larry King have in common?
They are just 3 of the prolific speakers at this year´s high level event which have received e)mission neutral carbon offset certificates.
This event took place in Estoril Congress Center, place certified as Green Venue in Portugal, for their commitment to green practices and sustainable business. The Estoril Congress Center is also an e)mission neutral certified facility.
As in 2009, the 2011 Estoril Conferences set in place an ambitious climate responsibility policy.
The carbon footprint of this event was 100% offset, as in 2009.The carbon credits purchased for this offsetting became from a project in South Africa, which involves the composting of green waste from municipal gardens.
This project creates jobs, produces humus - rich compost to improve the soils quality and prevents the release of methane, one powerful greenhouse gas. This project, from the portfolio of e)mission, follows the United Nations methodologies and is validated and verified by independent authors accredited to ensure quality assurance.
