Any event or activity that directly or indirectly, results in energy consumption has a carbon impact that can be calculated. It’s not always possible to reduce this "carbon footprint" but measures can be taken to offset or neutralize the greenhouse gas emissions, like carbon, which contribute to climate change.
With the support of e)mission, the carbon impact of the organization of the 4th Meeting Lusophone Environment and Development was calculated and offset through carbon credits from projects that contribute to local sustainability, while reducing carbon emissions in developing countries. The projects that generate carbon credits meet the highest international standards of quality and sustainability. Thus, this event was e)mission neutral certified®.
