Seminar/workshop on “Integrating Climate Change into Development Cooperation” is e)mission neutral

11-01-2011

The National Institute for Administration (INA) and the Portuguese Cooperation Institute (IPAD) measured and compensated the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the organization and development of the training Seminar and Workshop on “Integrating Climate Change into Development Cooperation”.  e)mission carried out the carbon footprinting and offset of the event, which was held at the INA Palace in Oeiras, during the 27th & 28th of January.

e)mission calculated a carbon footprint of 2.03 tonnes of CO2 and compensated all emissions including air travel, hotel stays and local mobility of participants to the event.

The offset of emissions was carried out through the acquisition of high quality carbon credits Verified Emissions Reductions), equivalent to the carbon footprint calculated, originated by the e)mission projects portfolio.

The offset means that  the  seminar/workshop is e)mission neutral certified.

The event is organized by INA and IPAD, with technical partner with TerraSystemics, a consultancy company operating in the areas of environment and sustainable development which represents e)mission in Portugal,
