e)mission news
The "Prémio Inovação" grants 50 000 Euros to an enterpreneurial project focussing on innovation and clean tech. The Prize is promoted by EDP, the Utility, and Visão, the magazine; Sir Richard Branson presides over the Jury. The initiative is offset by e)mission, which also participates in the Jury process.
The Prize, which main purpose is catalyzing and supporting innovative and entrepreneurial projects in "clean tech", is now in its 3rd edition.
In keeping with the objectives of the Prize, which is to promote new and innovative clean tech solutions which contribute to averting greenhouse gas emissions which contribute to climate change, the promoters of the Prize chose e)mission to ensure the carbon impact of the logistics involved with the organization of the Prize were duly offset. 50 tonnes of CO2 equivalents will be offset through e)mission´s portfolio of carbon credits, which are generated by energy efficiency and renewables projects in developing countries according to the highest international standards.
Sérgio Teixeira Santos, Director of TerraSystemics, the energy, environment and climate consultancy which represents e)mission in Portugal, is a member of the Jury and chairs the Technical Committee supporting the Jury.
